ABOUT

“It’s a story that begs for urgent action. Communities reeling from hard news, companies needing a gifted workforce, parents hungering for reliable jobs, policy makers setting a course into the future—all of us need to act now.” – The Jobs Revolution

Investing in Workers is a follow-up to the well-received November 2004 report of the Ohio Working Poor Families Project, Average Isn’t Enough: Advancing Working Families to Create an Outstanding Ohio Economy. The conference will bring together representatives of business, government, philanthropic, public policy, economic development, education and training, and human services organizations to frame a new economic development paradigm for Ohio: investing in adult workers is key to the state’s economic success. The event will provide a forum for sharing best practices from across the state and nation and stimulating cross-sector dialogue on an issue of particular importance during this gubernatorial election year in Ohio.
